Have you ever thrown a boomerang and caught it back? Well this is the opportunity to learn!
And who would be better than an Australian Aboriginal man to teach you? During this workshop, you will learn about the variety of boomerangs and its many different uses.Children or Adults will also discover its history and how to throw and catch back a returning boomerang.
Please note that you need a vast outdoor space for this workshop. Maximum of 20 people /workshop
Cultural Awareness Workshop
This workshop is designed to help staff/teachers to understand Aboriginal culture and community, its history and its issues with the intention of getting better communication between teachers/staff and the Aboriginal students , Organisation or Community Members . Dhinawan will help participants to comprehend how culture shapes their values, attitudes and behaviors. Goals of this workshop:
- Create an understanding of Aboriginal History through the eyes of an Aboriginal person (before and after Cook).
- Recognise and acknowledge the Native Culture of this country.
- Educate staff about cultural issues, values, attitudes and behaviour.
- Improve knowledge and understanding of the cultural and social history of Aboriginal people and the issues they have to confront.
- Establish effective arrangements for the participation of Aboriginal staff/students and community members in making decisions.
- Implement Culturally appropriate teaching strategies and assessments methods to ensure participation of Aboriginal students and staff.
- Develop knowledge and skills required for successful communication with Aboriginal people.
