General Circus classes incorporate an overview of all non aerial skills taught at Circus 35º South. These are broken down into three groups:
- Manipulation Skills, using primary hand eye coordination
- Body Skills, using techniques involving large body movement and
- Balance Skills, focused on developing balance using a variety of apparatus.
Junior circus classes are specifically designed for younger performers with an age range from two to eight. The classes touch on all skills taught at Circus 35º South with a range of modifications to accommodate the developing age group. Students are catered for at their own level of skill and ability with a class size maximum of 15 but very high trainer student ratio of 3 or 4 to one.
Classes are commonly taught as a tabloid with student periodically moving from trainer to trainer or as a skill level focus with students grouped according to their developmental stage.
These classes are for the ground acts that are so highly sort after by organisations looking to engage the circus for performance. Skills focus will vary each week with opportunities to specialise as well as being exposed to new skills. All manipulation skills are taught and include juggling, poi, fire staff, diabolo, and devil sticks as well as clowning skills, stilt walking, balance chairs, mime and some acrobatic/adagio techniques
