Our Gamelan Incursion is a traditional Indonesian music ensemble made up of percussion instruments. The word gamelan comes from the Javanese word 'gamel' which means hammer.

EG Incursions gamelan orchestra originates from Bali and is made up of 3 different sized gongs known as ageng, kempul and kenong. Our three metallophones carrying the core melodies include the saron, peking and demung whilst drums and bells are incorporated to maintain the rhythmic flow.

During the session several pieces of music are introduced and there are enough instruments for every child to participate. This allows each child to fully experience EG Incursions Gamelan Workshop.

We offer a fully interactive service with each child playing their own instrument. Our hands on activities are suitable for all age groups and can accommodate up to 250 children per day. The day finishes with a whole school assembly and a performance by your own students.

EG Incursions is part of Education Group, the largest provider of school incursions, workshops and assemblies in the world. Each year across 3 continents we help educate millions of children.
