Col the Swagman, AKA renowned Bush Poet Colin Driscoll, travels around Australia with his swag and billy checking out the native flora and fauna to make sure it is all ok. While he’s walking he makes up poems about our fury, scaly and feathered friends.
With his unique interactive stories Col not only provides the students with a fun and entertaining lesson in creative writing and Bush Poetry, he also delivers a very informative and educational lesson on Australia’s unique wildlife.
Don’t worry; there are no scratchy biting critters in this presentation, just a few of Col’s cute cuddly mates who have hitched a ride in his swag. Mates such as Mrs Kangaroo and her Joey, Percy Platypus, Ethel Echidna and Chuckles the Kookaburra will have your students totally enthralled in this interactive learning experience.
The duration of presentations/workshops (literature based) can be tailored to suit your requirements, and levels of learning can be flexible to meet the needs of different age groups.
Bush Poetry is an important part of Australia’s heritage and culture, and as a professional Bush Poet and member of the Australian Bush Poets Association, Colin Driscoll is committed to contributing to the nurturing of the ‘Spoken Word’ within younger generations of Victorians.
Don’t miss the opportunity to provide your students with an interactive learning experience they will talk about for years to come.
As Col the Swagman says, “If you see me in your travels and you’d like to share a yarn, then you’re welcome at my fire anytime.”
